Occupational Therapy:
Does your child have difficulty regulating themselves and tolerating sensations, such as touch, sound, and movement? Does your child have difficulty with fine motor skills, for instance, holding a utensil, grasping small objects, or handwriting? Is your child particular about the food he/she eats and does it interfere with family mealtime? If so, occupational therapy may be right for you!
Pediatric occupational therapy helps children gain independence and promotes development of fine motor skills, sensory motor skills, and visual motor skills that children need to function and socialize in their home, school, play, and community environments. In the case of an injury or debilitating illness, our services focus on rehabilitating children, allowing them to return to their daily routines at their highest level of function. Children that can benefit from occupational therapy have diagnoses that include, but are not limited to: Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyspraxia, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, lack of motor coordination, and developmental delay.
